Ben Affleck on Batman: I can handle sh*t

This is going to happen. Ben Affleck will don the tights of the Dark Knight. Whatever you might think of the choice of Affleck to play Batman in Zack Snyder’s forthcoming Batman vs. Superman, it’s going to happen.

For the first time since the news arrived, Ben Affleck discussed his decision to become the 8th actor to take the role (Batman talk arrives at 1:45. Prior to that are likable baby stories):

I love the idea of studio executives working to protect Ben Affleck’s feelings from on-line criticism that would (and did) accompany news of his casting. There’s something cute, and important, about that concern in the early stages of what will likely be a $200 Million movie production. Even Batman’s sensitive to the vitriol the internet produces. Why wouldn’t he be?

For my money, casting Ben Affleck to play Bruce Wayne makes perfect sense. How he fills out the suit, though, is another question entirely.
