So many thoughts! Are Yemaya and Francis Meena’s parents? Did Mariama kill them? What is with Meena not remembering Arjuna and Lucia’s names (Anwar and Cecelia!)? Did Mariama start the organization Semena Werk (recall Francis-I think it was-telling her the meaning…)? Is the barefoot girl Mariama? or Meena?
I have theories and theories. One of the best parts of the novel so far is that I truly have no idea how it will end.
