Tony Stark says “it’s the end of the path I started us on,” which could mean that Tony Stark started the Avengers and the Avengers are going down (unlikely).
The rest of the Avengers here get to show off a bit except Hawkeye, who is crouch-running through some snowy dark-woods. When are they gonna find you something to do, Jeremy Renner? Is is this movie where Hawkeye has any value?
The Maximoff Twins are here, which means Scarlet Witch’s Elizabeth Olsen. Elizabeth Olsen is a great talent. Hopefully she gets a chance to do something interesting on-screen. There a lot of actors in this movie. Not everyone will get to do something interesting.
Cap’s shield is torn in half in one image, signifying the death of Captain America? That’s unlikely. No one can die in this world otherwise what would happen to profits? This lack of suspense, by the by, is among the greatest shortcomings of the MCU.
Iron Man’s suit is much bigger and shootier, a requirement for every film that Iron Man appears in apparently.
I look forward to seeing Hulk fight Iron Man (they have a great Rocky and Apollo Creed simul-punch in the trailer). Hulk fighting Thor was one of the Avengers part 1’s best scenes. Hulk fighting anything is generally cooler than like Hawkeye slinging arrows at stuff or whatever.
There are some ballerinas, which is fun. And Ultron looks pretty badass.
Joss Whedon loves movies that live inside “movies”, and there is no shortage of that on display here. Maybe Joss Whedon has no strings to hold him down? (Except Disney).
